Synopsis:
Ray visits his fiancee Jean Loring and witnesses her shrink to tiny size. He brings the unconscious girl back to his lab to restore her size using ultra-violet light. Ray then notices that all the people in Ivy Town have also begun to shrink. Ray himself is unaffected as are a gang of bank robbers. Ray stops the robbery as the Atom, then investigates the cause of the strange shrinking.

Ray finds a white dwarf fragment has landed in the Ivy Town water supply. The radiation is responsible for the shrinking. He is immune because of his regular exposure to white dwarf radiation. Ray removes the fragment, neutralizes the irradiated water, and restores the people of Ivy Town using a giant lens to focus the ultra-violet light.
