Synopsis:
Bobo, the Detective Chimp, is a fan of Rex the Wonder Dog. When his idol comes to town to perform in a circus event, Bobo sees the show. After meeting Rex backstage, both animals begin following the trail of two box office thieves. They stow away on the crooks' boat and are taken to a small island.
Rex and Bobo attempt to follow the crooks across the island, but Rex is slowed due to his advanced age. After defending himself from a crocodile, Rex is forced to rest. Bobo brings him water from a spring. The water rejuvenates Rex.
With renewed energy Bobo and Rex defeat the crooks and return with them to the mainland. Later examination reveals that both animals have had their youth restored. Inadvertently, the spring Bobo discovered was really the Fountain of Youth.
As time passes, the rejuvenated Rex joins the space program with his master Lt. Col. Danny Dennis. He then becomes the first dog on the moon.
