Part 2: "The End of a Hero"
Synopsis:
Clark Kent is approached by a man named Adam Newman who claims to be Superman. When Clark tries to discredit the man, he learns that he has lost his super powers. Newman also proves that he has them.
Clark begins to look for ways to affirm his Superman identity. However, his secret closet in his apartment has disappeared, Batman claims that Clark is not Superman, and Newman continues to provide evidence that he is really Superman. Clark finally turns to a psychiatrist, who believes Clark is delusional and has only imagined that he was Superman.
While Clark doubts himself, Newman further tricks Clark using a Krypto robot. Newman is actually a failed android experiment created by Superman in his Fortress. He wants revenge on his creator for giving up on him. However, when an accident occurs at a nuclear power plant proves to be too much for Newman, he reveals the truth to Clark before he is destroyed. Newman nullified Clark's powers with special devices hidden in his shoes which used red sun energy. Clark removes his shoes, his powers return, then he prevents the nuclear catastrophe. Though Newman sought revenge, Superman builds a monument to the fallen android for acting to save Metropolis.
