Synopsis:
While dining in a New York restaurant with Marisa Dillon, Rod Gaynor is attacked by a man with a knife. Rod escapes injury and catches his attacker. The man, Dino, claims that he mistook Rod for a famous singer. The attacker then flees.

Rod and Marisa then go to the opera. Rod suspects that Enrico Grastoffa, the tenor, is the real target of the assassin. He slips away from Marisa, then returns to the theatre as the Whip in time to save Graftoffa from an attack. The Whip then learns that the singer married Dino's sister back in Italy and ran off with her. The masked hero convinces Dino that killing Grastoffa is not acceptable behavior, and the would-be killer makes amends for his attacks.
