Comments:
This story continues in Justice League of America #79.
This story features the first appearance of the JLA satellite headquarters.
Synopsis:
With the Secret Sanctuary's location exposed, the Justice League moves to a new headquarters aboard a satellite, orbiting 22,300 miles above the Earth. They reach their new base via a relativity-beam transporter created by Hawkman.
At the same time, a night watchman at an industrial plant discovers that the plant's sole product is pollution, and alerts the JLA. Robot gunmen attempt to kill him, and he is revealed as Greg Sanders, formerly the crimefighter known as the Vigilante. Resuming his costumed identity, Vigilante accompanies Batman, Atom, and Black Canary to investigate the mysterious factory, while Superman and Green Lantern, following another lead, find themselves on the planet Monsan, where all life has been destroyed by pollutants.
Defeated by their unknown foes, Vigilante and his companions face death as they are lowered into a vat of acid.
