Synopsis:
Lee Travis attends a stage show in which escape artists Smith and Smythe perform. Travis is called up on stage to help with the act and is kidnapped. The escape artists blindfold Travis, then force his father to pay a ransom. Once the kidnappers get the money, they release Lee.

Once he is free, Lee becomes the Crimson Avenger. After making a phone call, he has Wing drive him to the crooks' hide-out. He then apprehends the kidnappers. After the fight he explains to Wing that he memorized the serial number of a gas meter while he was held captive and was able to trace it back to the crooks.
