Synopsis:
The Justice League stumbles upon the Earthly chambers of Metron. Mister Miracle recognizes the New God and convinces the team to stand down. Max Lord is observing the situation via Metron's computer system. The computer has become sentient and has been helping Max rise to power. However, the computer was unaware that Mister Miracle was from New Genesis. It intended to pit the League against Metron, but the plan has failed.
While the League and Metron return to New York to confront Max. The computer reminds Max of how it was found in a cavern while Max was rock climbing. It also saved Max's life from a Manhunter. However, the near-death experience has changed Max. He attacks and destroys the computer. When the computer is eliminated, Max succumbs to his injuries.
With the computer destroyed Metron leaves Earth. The League visits Max in the hospital. J'onn probes his mind and based on Max's new attitude they allow him to maintain his association with them.
