Pages 17-23, subtitled Interlude 8: "Shanghaied into Hyperspace", adapt the Spectre chapter from All-Star Comics #13.
This story, which takes place April 12, 1942, is continued from All-Star Squadron #58 and continues in All-Star Squadron #60.
Synopsis:
The full roster of the All-Star Squadron convenes for their regular meeting. During the meeting, the Squadron votes to bring the robot Mekanique back to the Perisphere for examination. Robotman refuses to turn the robot over, so a task force is sent to his New York lab. A power build up causes an explosion in the lab, but Mekanique survives and faces off with the All-Stars.
Meanwhile, the Spectre lands on Pluto of an alternate-dimension. He helps the residents of the planet, then returns to Earth with a portable heat device.
